The US Embassy in Kuala Lumpur very much appreciates the work and sustained training that Junior Achievement does with young people and schools in Malaysia. Junior Achievement represents an outstanding American organisation, tradition and commitment to Malaysiaâs future.
It was inspiring to celebrate Junior Achievementâs commitment to Malaysia, to meet with the sponsors and companies that supported Junior Achievement this year, and to see the energy, excitement, and joy of the students and their teachers. One of the best moments was realising that one of this yearâs sponsors had come full circle – that Macro Kiosk Berhadâs founders were once Junior Achievement students and now are sponsors of a participating school. It was fantastic. Thank you very much for your collaboration with the Embassy.
“I got inspired by JA and now I want to inspire others”
âTruth to be told, I did not know what to expect from the internship. âInternshipâ, to a high school student sounded fancy and I felt excited.â
“I would like to summarize my JA experience in three words: exhilarating, frightening and lastly rewarding.”â
“YE made me bold.”Â
The people in JA Malaysia were so helpful and kind from my very first volunteer experience to the most recent. I was genuinely touched and could not have asked for a better team to help organise my volunteering experience. The lessons and values that I have learnt during my time in JA Malaysia is what I have take with me for the rest of my life. Thank you, JA Malaysia, for this inspiring experience and so much more!
Volunteering with JA Malaysia was an eye opening experience. The program was perfectly suited for the Primary school students to learn about financial literacy and entrepreneurship skills. The materials provided to volunteers were easy to understand and precisely described the scope. Personally, I had fun and felt it was a great opportunity in providing the students a better understanding of financial literary at a younger age.
HSBC volunteers are grateful for this opportunity, and we were very glad to see the students gaining valuable experience with the entrepreneur, financial and banking concepts and ideas. The JA staff did an awesome job in terms of preparation, presentation and creating fun atmosphere for the students to learn. The materials, concepts, games and ideas are well designed to attract students’ interest and attention. Kudos to the coordinators in managing the huge number of students with ease and fun while achieving the learning purpose. Looking forward to more volunteer opportunities soon.
I have been involved in Young Enterprise Program since 2000. In all these years, I have seen thousands of students benefiting in many ways when they participate in this program. Initially, when you start off the program, you will be faced with multitudes of challenges. However, the learning experience of every achiever as well as advisors towards the culmination of the program is the cherry on the cake. My 32 years of teaching has been more meaningful being involved in YE. It has made me more insightful and enterprising in my life experience.
The Young Enterprise (YE) Club is a very active club in secondary schools and students who join the YE Club gain a lot of knowledge and develop skills which cannot be taught from books. It teaches students crucial life skills such as problem-solving, teamwork, empathy, as well as learning to accept failure as a part of the growth process, that will help them navigate their uncertain futures. It also encourages students to be creative, innovation, and fosters collaboration among their peers to identify problems they have never encountered before, which is a skill that will be very useful for their futures. I believe by participating in YE program, the students donât just become ready to create their own futures â they become ready to change the world
